Homestay in Ballajura

We have a large room for one or two people to join us in our home. It is a lovely big house. We have a pool, and separate outdoor areas with enclosed garden which is nicely private.

$300/week includes room and board, use of kitchen, shared bathroom with toilet (with one adult male), laundry and extra toilet (washing machine) and garden. You can keep your own food for yourself in the fridge and pantry, and use the kitchen and any appliances at any time (processors, pressure cooker, pasta maker, ice-cream machine, juicer). Our chickens provide fresh eggs. We may have the occasional shared meal and some self-serve meals but you will mostly need to cook for yourself.

The furnished double room has some small shelves and a huge built in wardrobe.

The suburb is nice and quiet with a park alongside our house, a small shopping centre with supermarket, newsagent, bottle shop, barber within 5 minutes walk. There are bus stops 2 minutes walk away and a train station (Ballajura). The Perth city is 30 mins away. Joondalup is 20 mins by car. You can take a bus and train to Joondalup if needed.

We are a married couple (50yo) and 21yo male, 1 cat, a small dog, bunny, 4 chickens and a pink and grey Galah. We are a very creative family who love the outdoors and gardening, exploring, camping and generally having fun. We can be very quiet and in our separate rooms a lot, so don’t expect a super social house on the daily.

Languages spoken in our house are mostly English.

We have had people stay with us before: people from Saudi Arabia, Colombia, Chile and Australia so far :)

We are happy to help you to get settled for life in Australia in any way we can.

Minimum stay is 4 weeks but we really prefer long term tenants so we can settle in together.
